Local Youth Club Grant Scheme 2026 – Now Open for Applications

The scheme will open on Monday 23 February 2026, with a closing date of Friday 20 March 2026 at 5pm.

The Local Youth Club Grant Scheme is funded by the Department of Education and Youth (DEY) and is designed to support volunteer‑led youth clubs and groups that engage with young people across Cavan and Monaghan. Priority is given to groups working with young people aged 10 to 21 years and to those delivering youth work activities in line with the National Quality Standards for Volunteer‑led Youth Groups.

Commenting on the launch, Sonya McQuaid, Youth Officer with CMETB, said:   “We are delighted to launch the 2026 Local Youth Club Grant Scheme, offering a valuable opportunity for volunteer‑led youth groups to strengthen their programmes and services for young people in their communities. This scheme plays an important role in supporting volunteers and ensuring that high‑quality youth work is available to all young people, no matter their circumstances. We warmly encourage all eligible groups to apply and take full advantage of this funding support.”

The grant scheme supports groups to deliver a wide range of youth work activities, with a maximum grant allocation of €3,000 per group. In addition to traditional youth clubs, other clubs or groups that work with young people but do not specifically provide youth work are also eligible to apply.
