CMETB Employment and Training Expo at Hotel Kilmore hailed a major success
Cavan and Monaghan Education and Training Board (CMETB), in partnership with the Local Enterprise Office (LEO), the Department of Social Protection (DSP) and Regional Skills, welcomed a large turnout at its Employment and Training Expo, held at Hotel Kilmore on Thursday, 26 March 2026.
The event attracted a large crowd, with more than 400 attendees present on the day. Participants included graduates, Leaving Certificate students, parents, and individuals interested in new career paths, apprenticeships, or opportunities for upskilling.
The Expo featured over 80 exhibitors from across the region, and it was great to see such strong participation from local businesses and services—sharing information on current vacancies, future skills needs and career pathways. Throughout the evening, employers and attendees made valuable connections, with many positive conversations about next steps into employment and training.
CMETB staff were also on hand to highlight apprenticeship and upskilling opportunities available locally, and to provide information on Further Education and Training (FET) options for learners at all stages.
Eileen Roddy, Workforce Development Officer at CMETB, said: “We are delighted with the success of the 2026 Employment and Training Expo. It was fantastic to see such strong attendance from the public and such a high level of engagement from employers, with over 80 exhibitors on the day. The feedback we received from both employers and attendees has been extremely positive. We look forward to building on this momentum at our next Employment and Training Expo in Monaghan Institute on 28 May.”
CMETB would like to thank all exhibitors, partners and attendees for contributing to a hugely successful event.
