Members of Cavan and Monaghan Education and Training Board (CMETB) have chosen a new Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson to represent them for the coming year.
Ms. Aprilanna Barker has been elected as the new Chairperson of CMETB while Councillor Damien Brady has been elected as Deputy Chairperson.
The positions were filled during the Board meeting held on Tuesday, 16 September.
The ETB Board and Executive paid tribute to outgoing Chairperson, Cllr. Carmel Brady, for her dedication and stewardship in the role over the past 9 months and collectively wished Aprilanna every success in her new position.
On accepting her role, Aprilanna said:
“I am honoured to be elected as Chairperson of CMETB and I thank my colleagues on the Board for placing their confidence in me. With a background in business, I value strong governance, accountability and ensuring that public resources deliver real impact. At the same time, I am deeply passionate about education and the opportunities it creates for individuals and communities. I look forward to working with the Board and Executive to build on the progress already made and to continue delivering high-quality education and training across Cavan and Monaghan.”
