CMETB and Farnham Estate celebrate Spa & Beauty Therapy graduates

Graduates of the Spa & Beauty Therapy Traineeship were celebrated at a special graduation ceremony hosted by Cavan and Monaghan Education and Training Board (CMETB) at the FET Campus in Cavan on 14 July.

The trainees, who began their learning journey in Autumn 2025, successfully completed the programme delivered by CMETB in partnership with Farnham Estate Spa & Golf Resort. Throughout the traineeship, learners developed a broad range of professional skills and qualifications across a variety of beauty and spa therapy disciplines, combining classroom learning with valuable workplace experience in one of Ireland’s leading spa destinations.

Opening the event, Michelle Tilson Recruitment Officer with CMETB congratulated the graduates on everything they had accomplished throughout the programme. “Today is a celebration of what this group has achieved. Their talent and progress throughout the traineeship have been outstanding, and we are delighted to recognise their success.”

Training Services Manager Sinead McKenna also praised the graduates for the progress they had made over the course of the programme. “It has been a pleasure to see the progress made by these learners throughout the programme. They have grown in confidence, developed excellent professional skills and should be very proud of everything they have achieved.”

General Manager of the Farnham Estate Spa & Golf Resort, Michael Weston spoke of the success of the partnership and the important contribution the trainees have made within the award-winning spa facility. He highlighted the vital role spa therapists play in delivering exceptional guest experiences and acknowledged the positive impact the trainees have had in helping to strengthen and develop the Farnham Estate team. He commended the graduates for the professionalism throughout their training and wished them every success in their future careers.

Addressing the graduates, Chairperson of the CMETB Board April Anna Barker reflected on the value of the spa and wellness profession and the lasting impression therapists can have on the people they meet every day.  “The work you do matters. The experience you create for guests can leave a lasting impression long after their visit has ended. Never underestimate the value of your skills and the positive impact you can have on others.”   She encouraged the graduates to continue pursuing their ambitions within the industry.  “In the room today is the next generation of talent within this industry. Many of today’s leading names in the beauty and wellness industry began exactly where you are now, and there is no reason why some of you will not go on to achieve similar success.”

April Anna Barker then presented each graduate with their certificates, marking the successful completion of the traineeship.  Representatives from Farnham Estate also presented a number of special awards to learners in recognition of their individual achievements and contributions throughout the programme.

CMETB would like to sincerely thank Farnham Estate Spa & Golf Resort for its continued support and partnership in facilitating the traineeship. The collaboration between CMETB and Farnham Estate has provided learners with an outstanding opportunity to gain industry experience while developing the skills and knowledge required for a successful career within the spa and beauty sector.

The Spa & Beauty Therapist Traineeship will run again this autumn and applications are now open. The programme offers participants the opportunity to gain recognised qualifications and practical workplace experience in partnership with the award-winning Farnham Estate Spa & Golf Resort.
