CMETB Hairdressing Apprenticeship launch new Salon in Cavan Institute

Cavan and Monaghan Education and Training Board (CMETB) hosted an Employer and Apprentice Event for the launch of the new Hairdressing Facilities in Cavan Institute.

Local hairdressing employers, mentors and apprentices in the Cavan and Monaghan region attended this event ahead of embarking on the next stage of the National Hairdressing Apprenticeship.

The new facilities are both modern, spacious and equipped with the latest tools and techniques required to meet the needs of the industry.

Employers and mentors play a crucial and important role mentoring and assessing apprentices in the workforce.

CMETB Hairdressing three-year apprenticeship commenced on 27 November 2023 with an induction for all apprentices in Cavan Institute. Apprentices work four days a week in the salon (on-the-job training) with their perspective employer and one day per week in Cavan Institute. On successful completion of the course apprentices will achieve a QQI Level 6 Major Award on the National Framework of Qualifications in Hairdressing along with combining valuable training and learning with their employer.
