CMETB recruiting for exciting PEACEPLUS Roles

Cavan and Monaghan Education and Training Board (CMETB) is currently recruiting for a variety of roles under the PEACEPLUS Programme. This is a fantastic opportunity for those looking to contribute to community development and skills growth in the Cavan/Monaghan region.

About PEACEPLUS: PEACEPLUS is a cross-border funding initiative supported by the European Union, the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Government of Ireland, and the Northern Ireland administration. Building on the work of previous PEACE and INTERREG programmes, it aims to promote peace, cross-border cooperation, and regional development.

These new roles are based in CMETB locations, including CMETB Dún Mhuire Adult Education Centre, Monaghan Institute, and Cavan Institute, and are designed to enhance skills and employment opportunities across various sectors.

About the Roles:

The roles involve the delivery of two PEACEPLUS projects:

  • Southeast Higher Education/Further Education/Industry Cross-Border Alliance (SECBA) Project.

The Southeast Higher Education/Further Education/Industry Cross-Border Alliance (SECBA) initiative is a collaborative skills partnership which aims to bridge the gap between educational outputs and evolving industrial needs in the Southeast Region.  The initiative focuses on improving employability, stimulating innovation, and fostering cross-border labour mobility covering three areas:

  • Software Development: Using cutting-edge technologies like AI and cloud computing.
  • Biopharmaceuticals: Providing training in biotechnology processes.
  • Business and Sport: Developing management skills for both business and sports.

The SECBA project is led by Dundalk Institute of Technology, in partnership with Monaghan Institute, Cavan Institute, Southern Regional College and Workplus.

The SECBA project is part of a broader €46m PEACEPLUS funding initiative designed to improve access to quality education, training, and lifelong learning services. This funding will help boost regional competitiveness and create significant opportunities for cross-border cooperation.

CMETB is currently recruiting for 4 x roles under the SECBA project

  • 2 x Community Education Facilitators (Cavan Institute and Monaghan Institute):

The Facilitators will manage the SECBA Peace Plus Programme, focusing on bridging the skills gap between education and industry needs in the Southeast region.

  • 2 x Clerical Officers (Monaghan and Cavan Institutes):

The Clerical Officers will support the administration and rollout of PEACEPLUS programmes, handling administrative duties such as correspondence, procurement, reporting and event support.

  • Intergenerational Project

CMETB is currently recruiting for 1 x role for an Intergenerational Project under PEACEPLUS. The project, based within CMETB’s Adult Education Service, aims to reduce isolation, raise awareness about ageism, and foster shared learning experiences.

Intergenerational Programme Co-ordinator (Dún Mhuire Adult Education Centre)
The Co-ordinator will work alongside community groups to create opportunities for engagement, reducing isolation and bringing people of all ages together to share, learn and experience new skills.  The Co-ordinator will be responsible for creating intergenerational activities that bring individuals of all ages and from different backgrounds together to form positive relationships and value and respect difference.
