Youth Capital Funding awarded to Cavan/Monaghan Youth projects

Under the Youth Capital Funding Scheme for 2022, Cavan and Monaghan Education and Training Board (CMETB) received funding from the Department of Children, Equality, Integration, Disability and Youth for a capital grant scheme for volunteer led youth clubs/groups across Cavan and Monaghan. 

 The Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth approved the Youth Capital grants to support national youth organisations and local youth services and clubs across the country. 

 CMETB Youth Services will allocate funding of €49,158 to volunteer led youth groups and staff led youth projects across Cavan and Monaghan.   

 The Youth capital funding is used to support the work of volunteers and staff, enhance the experience of their members. The capital grants awarded are supporting services and clubs with upgrade works, the purchase of new equipment, ICT for online service provision, improvements to ventilation, and adaptations to outdoor spaces to facilitate youth services to run outdoor activities. 

 It is the function of CMETB Youth Services to administer youth related grants from the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth.  

 CMETB Youth Development and Wellbeing Officer, Maureen McIntyre said;  

 “Youth organisations play a vital role in our communities, this funding will allow our youth groups and youth projects to continue to provide support and guidance to young people in our region, helping young people to achieve better social outcomes and empowering them to reach their full potential.”
