Young Chef of the Year Competition

CMETB host Young Cook of the Year Competition Final

TY Young Cook of the Year Competition – Monaghan

Cavan and Monaghan Education and Training Board (CMETB) in partnership with Monaghan County Council and Local Enterprise Office Monaghan held a “Young Cook of the Year” competition among Secondary Schools in County Monaghan.

The final, which took place last week in Monaghan Institute, saw Monaghan schools, Inver College, Beech Hill College, St.Macartan’s College, Our Lady’s Secondary School Castleblayney and St Louis Monaghan compete for a place in the regional final.

The aim of the competition is to encourage young people to explore and potentially enter a career within the hospitality sector through the wide range of programmes delivered in Monaghan Institute and Cavan Institute.

Congratulations to everybody, in particular the winning teams from Inver College and Beech Hill College, who now go forward to the regional final in Cavan Institute next Spring.

Congratulations to all schools and students who participated – the future is bright for Monaghan’s young chefs!
