ETB Day – Celebrating 10 years of ETB’s

Celebrating 10 years since the establishment of Education and Training Boards

In 2023, Ireland’s Education & Training Boards are celebrating 10 years since their establishment. To mark this event and showcase the services Education and Training Boards provide to learners Education and Training Boards Ireland (ETBI) organised a number of initiatives including The National ETB Excellence Awards, “My ETB” creative multimedia competition and a National Staff Tea Party – for a chance for staff to celebrate Over the week ETB’s were invited to showcase the services they provide to learners in local communities throughout the country: from community national schools to community colleges, youth, adult and further education and training.

CMETB had 7 projects shortlisted for ETB Excellence Awards. The ETB Excellence Awards celebrated Excellence across Education & Training within the ETB sector nationally. The award ceremony took place on Thursday 2nd March in Croke Park with awards presented by ETB Heroes and special guest RTE newscaster Ray Kennedy.

Congratulations to the shortlisted projects from across CMETB with representation in Schools, Further Education and Training (FET), Youth Services and Organisation Support and Development (OSD). CMETB Shortlisted entries included:

⭐ Learner Creative Award – Mia Hughes (Learner, Cavan Institute)
⭐ ETB Hero Award – Sascha Cumiskey (Teacher- Largy College)
⭐ Excellence in Equality Award – Cavan Institute
⭐ Excellence in Care Award – Castleblayney College
⭐ Excellence in Gaeloideachas – Coláiste Oiriall
⭐ Excellence in Youth Services Award – CMETB Youth Services
⭐ Excellence in Organisation Support & Development Award – CMETB OSD
